Troy Baker (born April 1, 1976) is an American vocalism actor and musician. Baker is known for his video game roles as Joel Miller in The Last of Us (2013) and its sequel (2020), Snow Villiers in Terminal Fantasy XIII (2010) and its sequels, Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite (2013), Samuel "Sam" Drake in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (2016) and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (2017), Pagan Min in the Far Weep franchise, Rhys in Tales from the Borderlands (2014), Talion in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (2014) and Center-globe: Shadow of State of war (2017) Yuri Lowell in Tales of Vesperia, Kanji Tatsumi in Persona iv, Vincent Brooks in Catherine (2011) and Catherine: Full Body (2019), Revolver Ocelot in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (2015) Amanuensis Jones in Fortnite (2017) and Higgs Monaghan in Decease Stranding (2019). Baker currently holds the record for the most acting nominations at the BAFTA Games Awards, with five between 2013 and 2021.
Baker also voices Batman, Joker, Hawkeye, and Loki in various media, and has provided voices for a number of English dubs of anime, including Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Naruto: Shippuden, Ane Piece, and Soul Eater. He was previously the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the alternative rock band Tripp Fontaine, with whom he released an album titled Random Thoughts on a Paper Napkin (2004). He then released the solo album Sitting in the Fire (2014) before he and his backing band inverse their name to Window to the Abbey and released the album Moving Around Bias (2017).

Acting [edit]
Baker began his voice acting career doing radio commercials in Dallas. He was recruited past Christopher Sabat to practise voice-over piece of work at Funimation for the English adaptation of the anime Instance Closed. He went on to work in dubbing anime such as Bleach, Dragon Brawl Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fullmetal Alchemist: Alliance, Naruto, Naruto: Shippuden, and the Funimation dub of One Piece. He then moved to Los Angeles and began working on Marvel-based animated series, providing the voice of various characters in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, as well as Eagle and Loki in Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble.[4]
Bakery'southward career in the video game manufacture began when he voiced Matt Baker in the tactical shooter serial Brothers in Arms. In an interview with The Griff, he said, "It was starting to get necessary for actors to become involved [in gaming], then I got into that and information technology was literally stumbling from one job into the next. That was kind of my first snowball effect."[5] His most notable roles came in 2013, when he provided the voice of Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite and the voice and motion capture of Joel in The Terminal of Us. Both games earned critical acclaim, gaining scores over 90% on GameRankings[6] [7] and Metacritic,[8] [nine] and widespread commercial success.[10] [11] He was nominated for both of these roles at VGX 2013, winning for The Last of United states of america. He then worked on Uncharted iv: A Thief's End, playing Nathan Drake'south older blood brother Sam. He reprised the role in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.[12]
In 2011, Baker became the voice of Siris, the hero of Chair Entertainment'southward blockbuster mobile game series Infinity Blade, and in 2014 he was the vocalisation of Talion, the protagonist of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which earned a rating of 9.three on IGN. He also voiced Ace (Experiment 262) in the English dub of the anime Sew together! He was listed on Entertainment Weekly 'southward in their best of 2013 consequence for best breakout histrion in the video game industry for his performances in The Last of Us, BioShock Infinite, and equally the Joker in Batman: Arkham Origins. He is one of the few actors to have portrayed Batman (Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Lego Batman iii: Across Gotham, Lego Dimensions, Batman: The Telltale Serial and Batman: The Enemy Within), the Joker (Batman: Arkham Origins), and the three major iterations of Robin (Tim Drake in Batman: Arkham City, Dick Grayson (as Nightwing) in Injustice: Gods Among Us and Jason Todd (as Carmine Hood and the main antagonist) in Batman: Arkham Knight).[13]
In May 2018, Baker and vox player Nolan Northward began hosting the weekly YouTube series Retro Replay. In Apr 2020, due to an apparent disagreement on the futurity direction of the show, Baker left to start his ain series.[fourteen]
In Jan 2022, Bakery announced that he was partnering with VoiceVerse, a company that helps create and promote AI powered phonation NFTs, saying "Nosotros all have a story to tell. You tin hate. Or you can create. What'll it be?". The annunciation received backlash from his fans and fellow voice actors, who highlighted the potential for ecology impairment and exit scams associated with NFT sales. Furthermore, it was discovered that VoiceVerse had stolen voice lines generated from xv.ai, a non-commercial AI text-to-speech service, as part of their marketing campaign without permission.[15] [16] [17] [eighteen] Baker responded that he appreciated people sharing their thoughts and their responses were "giving me a lot to recollect about." [xix] [20] [21] On Jan 31st, 2022, Troy Baker announced on his Twitter account that he would no longer exist working with VoiceVerse.[22]

Before pursuing interim, Bakery was the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the culling stone ring Tripp Fontaine, which released the radio single "Called-for Out" from their debut anthology Random Thoughts on a Newspaper Napkin in 2004.[23] [24]
Baker's first solo anthology, Sitting in the Fire, was released on October 14, 2014.[25] [26] [27] On October 6, 2017, Bakery and his backing ring, likewise called Sitting in the Fire, released his second album Moving Around Bias nether the new proper name of Window to the Abbey.[28]

In 2012, Bakery married photographer Pamela Walworth, also from Dallas. They reside in Los Angeles.[4] Their son, Traveller Hyde Bakery, was born on May iii, 2018.[29]
